Sophie McQuillan

Writer

Sophie is a Durham graduate now working in television production. Princes' is one of several plays she has written including 'Congestion', which was selected to perform at NSDF 2015 and 'Werthers & Wrinkles' which premiered at Durham Drama Festival 2015. Alongside writing Sophie is also an actress, including two previous performances at the Fringe and a foundation year at Lamda.

Writer & Producer

Henry Winlow

Henry is an Economics graduate from Durham University and classically trained musician. Before writing Princes' Quest, Henry has focused on producing shows including 'The Bakewell Bake Off' at Edinburgh Fringe 2015 and 'The Durham Showcase' at Triston Bates Theatre. For the  Durham productions he has been involved with, Henry has been nominated for best producer and best publicity at the Durham Oscars several times.​

Olivia Race

Director

Olivia is a Durham University English Literature graduate. 'The Princes' Quest' is only the third show she has directed but is the 20th production she has been involved in. Some of her recent credits include: Gertrude in Shakespeare's 'Hamlet', Kath in Tom Wells' 'The Kitchen Sink', and Kate in Harold Pinter's 'Old Times'. She has been to Edinburgh Fringe as an actor, performing in Ethrael Theatre's 'The Furies' in 2015, and Another Soup's 'Victorian Vices' in 2014. 

Producer

Genevieve Burns

Genevieve is a second-year English and History student from Durham University. Not only is this her first time producing at The Fringe, but also her first time attending. As well as producing 'The Thrill of Love', Front Room Productions' first show, she was also assistant producer for 'Kiss Me, Kate' which was selected for the National Student Drama Festival.

Nick Fleet

Musical Director & 'Bill'

Nick is a freshly graduated Engineering student from Durham University. He has Musical Directed several Durham shows from ‘Kiss Me, Kate’ to ‘25th Annual Spelling Putnam County Spelling Bee’ as well as one-off sets for events hosted by Tim Rice and Thomas Allen. Nick has also been involved with other musical activities such as MD’ing and Producing for the Big Band, Kinky Jeff and the Swingers, as well as Durham Improved Musical.

Gavin Jackson

Bass

Gavin is a second-year classicist from Durham University. Over the years he has performed in a number of musicals in and out of university, not only on bass, but also on violin, piano, and guitar. This summer marks his debut at the Fringe. In addition to playing for shows, Gavin plays bass in Hatfield College's Kinky Jeff and the Swingers.

Percussion

Dan Sherington

Dan is a second-year Physics student at Durham University. He has been involved in a number of shows in the university, most notably playing in ‘The Addams Family’ at the National Student Drama Festival, but ‘The Prince’s Quest’ marks his fringe debut.

Among other musical commitments, Dan is musical director of the Van Mildert College Big Band and spends most weekends gigging around Durham city.

Lydia Feerick

'Princess Katy'

Lydia is a recent Philosophy and Psychology graduate from Durham University. 'The Princes Quest' marks her 15th Durham show and her fourth at the Fringe - having appeared in DULOG's 'How to Succeed in Business (Without Really Trying)' back in 2014 and, previously, with The Young Actors Company (2009 and 2011 festivals). After graduating this summer, Lydia hopes to pursue a career as a professional actress.

Joe McWilliam

'Prince Ernest'

Joe is a second-year Biology student at Durham University. ‘The Princes Quest’ is his fourth Fringe credit, following ‘A Little Piece of Heaven’ (2013) and ‘Peter Pan’ (2014) with Duckegg Theatre Company, and ‘The Bakewell Bake-off’ (2015) with Durham University Light Opera Group. Previous theatre credits whilst at Durham include Melchior in ‘Spring Awakening’ and Leo in ‘The Producers.’

Asher Glinsman

'Prince Freddie'

Asher has just finished his first year studying French and Spanish at Durham and this is his first time performing at Edinburgh. In the past on stage, he’s gotten embarrassingly sweaty whilst starring in 'Shaffer’s Black Comedy', as well as belting out songs by Madness in one of the worst cockney accents to grace the earth as Lewis in 'Our House'. He can’t wait to have a crack at 'The Princes' Quest' and hopes that this will be one of many more shows to come.

Ellie Jones

Ellie is a second-year Education and Psychology student at Durham University. ‘The Princes Quest’ is her 10th production since being at Durham, having previously played Woman in Chair in ‘The Drowsy Chaperone,’ and Holly Berry in last year’s run of ‘The Bakewell Bake-off' at The Fringe. This year she took on her first production team role of Assistant Director in Durham’s largest annual production of ‘Kiss Me, Kate.’

'Lottie'

Bianca Watts

Despite spending far too much time performing, Bianca is doing her best to become a Durham graduate by June this year, majoring in Spanish, Music and Chinese. This is Bianca's fourth show at the Fringe where she has performed as a singer, actor, dancer and harpist. She spent a year studying the harp at the Royal Conservatoire of Madrid and hopes to pursue music and performing further.
